If Archangel Gabriel decided to turn into a demi god and screw (and kill) people, what's next? God is a Little Mermaid? With such inconsistent mythology that mutates as the writers scribble, we are nto safe from the finale when it occurs that God was watching Dean and Sam from the moment they were born and the entire *saga* of Winchesters was existign to prove how Dean and Sam need each other, how family is important etc???? Of course discounting all the people who have died during the time the Winchesters took their journey?
Cas makes his entry to get yanked back again to wherever. Then in the end Dean and Sam get into the car while Cas is...standing there. WAY to say wtf?
So....the humorous part was eyecandy (and LORD, did Dean have a crush on Dr Sexy! Just watch Dean's face when he spots him), but it does not counterbalance how upset I am that the writers clearly forget what they said like....5 eps before.
Dean definitely had a bit of man crush on Dr Sexy, guess they kinda made him bi in canon then;) "a guilty pleasure" *G*
But yeah after right underneath the obvious fun crack of this episode lies all the problems with the canon they are trying to write or rewrite. It just doesn't fit to make the Trickster an angel! The whole thing is equally boring me to death and making me want to send a strong worded letter to the writers to inquire when the heck their brains and memories got lost?!
The whole destined vessel winchester thing is abysmal, not at all explained properly and almost like a rape of the first three seasons IMO.
I'm trying to focus on the crack Sam/Dean here or otherwise I might just have to break something, preferably Kripkes overblown head.
Ahhhhhhhhh, if Dr Sexy was a real Dr Sexy, Dean would so get rimmed in a broom closet in NO time! :) But no he has Sam's nuts to kiss them better. LOL.

And was that ANOTHER AWFUL chick in a bikini and on heels in this ep? I have a feeling Dean can't get it up for them any more, but the damn writers make him keep trying.

Dean's sex drive being a bit damaged after hell would actually be a very probable, though of cause that doesn't make for good tv. Oh hell now I want to read fics about Sam slowly getting Dean back in the "mood" so to speak. I'm letting porn eat my brain willing these days:)

I'm still pissed about the retcon thing they are doing, the supernatural verse have always been based on a lot of different mythologies, so for them to try and force yet more Judo Christianity into the show this way, makes the world much smaller and less interesting for me. I really, really would have liked for Gabriel to be played by woman too, way to many men in the angel roles for me, so I'm kinda looking forward to getting Anna back:)
About ending and Castiel I smiled a bit too, he is just such a overblown, overused and utterly boring character, plus I still see no basic what so ever for all the "buddy" worry from Dean. They are not friends plz, coworkers at most.
Exactly! It makes the world seem smaller! I couldn't have use a better word to describe what I feel.
Gabriel by a woman? Umm... it could have work if they had choose a good actress. Which I'm not sure they could have done it right. I'm not mysoginous, but I'm tired of sappy girls and brainless bimbos, which seems to be everywhere on tv. I'm being mean there cause I know many shows where women are awesome, but in general, I just want to punch them in the face being so silly! And Gabriel, well Gabriel is Gabriel! She needs to be clever, a little crazy but classy! I definetly perefer him as the Trickster than a wrong woman casting.
And Anna, God, I'm sorry, but she is the most bland character I've ever seen! If every woman in Supernatural has to be like her or Ruby (the brunette), I prefer Kripke keeping his rule of killing every female character at the end of each season.
I am kind of divided on this episode because it ruined my Cambion theory, I wanted the Trickster to be a Cambion. And I felt if any Angel would be the Trickster it would have been Raphael not Gabriel. Though maybe they chose Gabriel because of the old legend about a female angel Sophia/Gabriel who fell for a while because of her pity in some stories the fallen angels, in other stories the humans kicked out of heaven, but was forgiven and brought back into heaven, but I thought Anna was supposed be filling that role.
The reason I am not totally negative about it is because I felt Richard's performance was just so good that he managed to sell me, even though I did not want to be sold
