This is fucking amazing. In many, many ways - the need between them is perfectly conveyed, both their characterizations are magnificent and the smut is to die for. My heart hurts for them both! So many beautiful, fluid lines. Your writing is outstanding! Thank you for this.

Car sex FTW! So pretty, as always. I particularly love the initial awkwardness because Damon and Elena haven't ever had that moment where they want to have sex after they've had sex and it's totally part of the fabric of their relationship. Still so new and then complicated by the sire bond, of course.

Which reminds me--are you all caught up now? I thought you were going to text me when you were watching stuff!

I caught up Sunday night after the football game when I couldn't sleep, or else I probably would have! (Although now I realize the time difference wouldn't have mattered, you would have been up probably).

Do you really believe there is a sire bond? When all this D/E stuff started developing, I just kept thinking that Elena obviously had these feelings to begin with, Vampirism enhances emotions, therefore her love for Damon got enhanced along with her indecision towards Stefan. This sire bond thing is ridiculous. NOT HAPPY.

I really don't think the sire bond is a real thing. I can direct you to posts that explain my thoughts in depth (not written by me, but by other fangirls who take time to do stuff like that), or I can tell you in a nutshell that I think there are Klaus-Hayley-Shane shenanigans that planted the idea of the sire bond and cemented it with hypnotic herbs while Elena was at the lakehouse with everyone. I think they have a lovebond, period, and as you say, it was just the magnification of what she already felt. But I also think it's an awesome fly in the ointment for the boy who just wants it to be real but who has mind-manipulated women for a century.

I don't think, if Elena actually ends up taking the cure, that it will change her feelings one bit. But I really think Elena won't take the cure and we'll end up with Human!Damon before the end of the season. Which excites me on a ridiculous level.

the sire bond crap is killing the show for me.. this was appointment tv and ever since they started with this storyline, i've been putting off watching the episodes, because i know that no matter how satisfying the moments are, as soon as things get good "well then it must be the sire bond!" its stupid and lame.. they flat out said when they went to New Orleans that the only way the sire bond happens is if the human is in love with their sire when they're turned.. so i don't get why we're still debating whether or not Elena actually loves Damon... if she didn't there couldn't be a sire bond.. its like the writer's don't even care about their own logic...
