Last night I was brushing my teeth and out from under my bathroom ran the HUGEST spider I have ever seen outside of a zoo or pet store...OMFG!!!! I screamed like a girl (well a woman with a toothbrush in her mouth) and yelled "BWHIAN! CHUM GHET THISH PHIDER!" It was crazy! Wish I'd had my camera.... I don't like living in the country anymore...

BWIAN!!! HAHAHA.... I found a rogue scout above my bed in the corner last night. He was obviously waiting for me to fall asleep so he could swoop in and make the attack... I showed him though! Hate spiders *icky face*

As a little girl growing up in the tropics, all sorts of strategies were employed to keep fear of spiders (and other bugs) at bay.

Spiders? Big slender brown cane spiders were tolerated as guests when they took up residence in the bathroom. Why they liked it in that one corner of the bathroom is beyond me, but we always told ourselves that it was good luck and pest control.

My Dad successfully convinced my newly emmigrated german mother that the inch-long cockroaches were, in fact, merely beetles. Somehow beetles aren't nearly do scary. To this day, I can't bring myself to call anything brown and an inch long (not including antannae and death ray) a 'beetle', but anything vaguely round-ish and dark? It's a beetle and adorable and should scooped up and taken outside.

What I wanna know is how to deal with SMALL spiders. I found one that wasn't bigger than a dime, but all I could think was "OMGWTFBBQ BLACK WIDOW!!!!". It went Skeeeeeeee-wich!
