One of the things I like about AO3 (and a few other sites) is the ability to leave kudos/likes either in addition to or instead of comments since I think it's a good way for people with limited time/social anxiety/people reading on portable devices like phones or I-Pads to still leave their appreciation. Now, I knew cliches like Quidditch-toned thighs weren't canon (but totally should be!), and I also knew fanfic commonly mentions wards and glamours which also aren't HP canon.
