Thanks Mel. Honestly? I was just... beyond pissed when she called and told me. But now... shit. I don't even know anymore. I mean, I've gotten yelled at on the street before, and had rude comments and whatnot, but seriously? In my little white bread community where we haven't had a single problem in 3 years, I wasn't expecting it.

Eh... she called and told the apartment manager and she said they were actually appalled. They're going to try and put more lights out by where we park, and have the security guards patrol the back of the complex more often. And they want us to file a police report and call them if we catch the punk kids messing around in the parking lots like they have been occasionally. That's all we can do, I guess.

Other than run them over in the truck if we see them, of course. *L*

Maybe I should make a bigger sticker for the truck. One that says "Screw you, you redneck goat-fucking asshole."

Thanks! And yeah, we're good. Although, I think it will at least kick me into gear about being a little less laid back about my surroundings. I'd gotten too used to the quiet neighborhood the last few years and forgot how to walk around after dark like I used to when we lived in what my friends affectionately called the "Gay Ghetto".

Ah well. Time to pull out my beating bat.

Amanda, I'm so sorry that some people (if you can actually call them that) can't see past the end of their nose. It drives me crazy that others think that they can impose their beliefs on other people. I think the thing that really gets me is kind of what you were hitting on- what did they expect to happen as a result of their actions? I hope they find the ones who did this or at the very least, make you and Tamara feel safe in your own neighborhood again. You know, if they do find them, I have friends who have some very nice long-range rifles. That way there would be no connection to you. :)

And thanks for the loan of the rifles. *LOL* One of my friends offered to come over and clean all her guns and knives on our patio one day. She did that on her porch and the petty drug dealers across her street stopped bothering her. Because it took her all afternoon to clean them all. *L*

Actually, Tamara called our apartment office and the manager was quite horrified, she said. Apparently they want us to call and report it - which Tamara said she'd do tomorrow. They promise to get better lighting in the back parking areas, and to send the security guard on more frequent patrols.

We're hoping it was just a couple of stupid punk kids who like to hang out by the back apartments, and not something that we'll have to deal with on an ongoing basis. But even so, it's upsetting and really fucking annoying. Especially since now I'll have to take the truck in and get the windshield buffed, and hope they can get it out.
