Great TV you might not be watching

Last summer, my mom asked me if I was watching "that new Bruce Campbell show" and I said no, because although I dig Bruce Campbell, I don't find spy shows interesting. We were talking about Burn Notice (link to USA network) which premiered on June 28th, 2007, on the USA network. My mom really loves her some USA shows.

It looks like the DVDs are coming out just about the time I get antsy for something new to watch. And my Tivo isn't going nuts deleting everything lately, so I think I must have space for the pilot.

Love the Burn Notice! It's basically The Prisoner only instead of being stuck on an island, Westen is stuck in Miami. And his annoying family is stuck there with him. And Bruce Campbell gets to play an age appropriate character who's made of awesome.

Running with the Prisoner metaphor, does that make Bruce Campbell Rover? Because while he's gotten a little chunky - I'm not sure I'd go that far...

Burn Notice is one of the few shows that Mr. B looks forward to, instead of just tolerating because he doesn't want to get up off the couch and get his laptop.

I like all of the characters except for Fiona; her chemistry somehow doesn't seem to me to fit into the cast. I don't mind the actress at all, but the character rubs me the wrong way, and I can't see how Michael was attracted to her other than her having a smoking hot body and being in the vicinity.

I guess Fiona is -- useful? She does have skills he can make use of, and I suppose her wanting to crawl all over him most of the time is an attraction. She gets along with his mom too, which is probably nice for him. As for the body - she's way to skinny for me personally. :)
