laughter is freedom, try it on me

I've recently started waking up every morning making the attempt to laugh. At first it's really forced, but then it gets a lot more sincere. It gives your internal organs a nice massage and is just a good way to start the day and put things in perspective.

The same thing we do every night, Pinky... area51pants April 5 2005, 14:03:03 UTC
I can't even fathom the level of ridiculousness that act must dwell on. Anyway, though I might end up laughing at myself for doing something so against my a.m. nature, I would nevertheless hate myself for it afterward.

oh i know how deep the a.m. nature can run, all the better to laugh i say - but i am aware of the moody connoisseurs on my friends page, and i happen to dwell there occasionally myself of course.

oh I likes me some moodiness, definitely.

i prefer the particularly tasty, anonymous jack the ripper brand, circa late 19th century on long office days and the sneering, helen-the-diner-waitress variety on all the others.

but my a.m. nature has a flavor all its own, part dreaminess, part cynicism, with the loveliest bouquet of kryptonite and fresh coffee and a hint of dryer sheet to pull it all together and 'bounce' me into wakefullness.

you reminded me of how i once spent a weekend with a girl who expressly told me that she didn't like to talk in the morning AT ALL. "What's the point..blah blah blah". I understood it, but at the same time it sort of made the mornings all the more distugsting looking at this grumpy ass person who didn't even want to talk about anything. but i would be all for someone saying "how bout we just don't bother talking before 10 a.m. unless it's really important" and it was said in a more matter of fact way. i guess this one was just bitter at a young age.

The day I cannot laugh, is a day I need to get some depression pills.
Laughing burns calories too.

I have met another person who has our birthday, except she was born the same year as me as well. isis_orchid42. So so so weird.

i'll have to check isis out, there are bound to be many more who share our birthday - but i can't be caught being subject to the halo effect, i've met some horrible people born on our day. i know, i know, very troubling.

"Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter can be said to remedy anything."
-Kurt Vonnegut

A quote I have had since high school. Don't remember which book I got it from or what, but it's one of my favorites.
I laugh a lot.
