Alex knocked on the doorframe of her office. A spontaneous visit to Connie hadn't exactly been part of the plan, but that was kind of point.

Connie looked up from her desk. Her eyes lit up when she saw Alex. "Hey!"

"Hey back at ya!" Alex smiled and stepped in. "I thought I'd come see you and wish you happy birthday."

Connie smiled. "Thanks."

OOC: Gah, I got the threads mixed up and thought I'd already replied to this one! Sorry!

Jeff knocked on the door frame to Connie's office leaning against it. "The rumor is that it's your birthday."

Connie looked up from her paperwork with a smile. "The rumor would be true."

It's lunchtime on Connie's birthday. Zach is quite possibly giddy at the idea of such things because it means not just delicious food but special delicious food. Like the gift basket he's proudly carrying with him to Connie's office from Milk & Cookies Bakery - a dozen chocolate chip cookies, a dozen peanut butter cookies, and two little cartons of milk are in the basket with a card that reads 'To my lunch buddy on her birthday....'

He knocks on the already open door, though at this point their lunches have become so routine that knocking is more habit than necessary.

Connie looks up from the sandwich that she's just taken a bite of. She chews quickly, motioning with a hand for him to come in. "Hey."

Zach looks at her sandwich and scrunches his nose. Yep. That sums up his opinion of those 'working lunches'. He walks into Connie's office and sits the basket on her desk. "Happy Birthday!" And he grins, "I brought snacks."

"Ooh. Thanks," Connie leans over and starts to open the basket. "Wow...very nice."

Casey walked towards Connie's office. She reluctantly held a small package in her hands. To be honest, it was more difficult than she thought buying Connie a birthday present this year. After all last year she just took her out for drinks and dinner. 'Oh well,' she shrugged to herself. It was the thought that counted right?

*OOC- Sorry I disappeared. My old friends need to realize just because I'm back at my mom's there's not the same open door policy I had in high school.

Connie hurried back to her office from the bathroom. It was the first of what would probably be many post-lunch trips. She spotted Casey and called from behind, "Hey, you."

Brian knocked on Connie's office door. He'd met to stop by earlier, but one motion hearing had run into another and it was just in general a crazy day.

Connie called from behind the closed door, "Come in!" She was seated at her desk, eating one of the cookies from the basket that Zach Nichols had brought over, and reclining while she did so. A sheaf of papers was balancing on her stomach and she had been reading from it.

Brian opened the door and started to enter, but stopped.

"Are you sure I'm not interrupting something?"

"Just paperwork," Connie smiled. "How's it going?" She sat up, shifting the papers to the desk.
