*finally met the new neighbors today. The poor things think that my yard is wild and untamed just because I am busy. They don't know I'm also farm raised, a hippy from a private college in Oregon, and an episcopalian. I have bugs, at least 3 kinds of birds, and TOADS this year! Haven't had toad babies for a long time

I had a big, fat Sonoran toad show up at the property the other day. I know some people freak out about them being toxic, but it can eat all the bugs it wants. The winter storms have given us a bumper crop of grasshoppers that he can have at. Tiny toads arw adorable.

Perfectly manicured yards are overrated.
