Though it seemed to be that he was pouring over a text on Modern Maladies vol. IV, Adam Wilkes was instead examining his most recent song appropriately titled, “You can’t take it with you”. From her vantage point atop a shadowed bookshelf, Alison frowned in concentration. This was a long jump, even for her. Sizing up her target --a beam nearly fifteen feet from her, with nothing in between-- she crouched down, her legs coiling tightly, preparing...

She pounced, and for a split second, she thought she was going to make it. An instant later, though, she saw that she was going to miss the beam by barely a foot, and immediately twisted in the air to prepare for a long fall and hard landing.

Alison landed with a THUMP, then, squarely on the open book of an older boy, and promptly rolled off the table and sprang to cling to the back of a nearby armchair, looking inexplicably affronted.

Adam could do nothing more but stare openly, in horror, at the girl. His gaze went up to the beams, down to his book, back to the girl, blink - blink.

Instead of cussing her out with "What the fuck are you doing?" or, "HOLY SHIT", the slytherin glared at her and very calmly stated.

"You almost hit me," as if the idea was the kiss of death.

Alison didn't reply immediately, but waited until she was safely perched atop a bookshelf almost directly above the boy. Still slightly shaken from her fall, she said breathlessly, "Lucky your book broke my fall, then. Do I know you from somewhere?"
