My Mom is coming up to visit in about two weeks. I took a look at her itinerary this morning and noticed that she had to change planes, and I was suddenly worried. I realized that when my Dad flew up north few weeks ago, I had to explain how the electronic check-in worked and the rules for getting through security, as he has not flown a lot in the ( Read more... )

I think it's part of being a grownup. I've also started worrying about my parents, the last few years. They're getting older, and getting around is now harder for them than it is for me.

Another sign that I'm getting old: using phrases like "the last few years." Yeah, 'cause they're starting to run together, G-d help me.

I'd be delighted to hear about your workaholic life. It's a nice break from my own. And I miss you. Want to come visit?

Oh good, it's not just me. And the years are all running together. I think it's because they aren't blocked out in "grades" anymore.

I want to come and visit like crazy! I am going to try and make it for your cubic birthday, but I may be working too much (see above). I haven't even been to church this month.

You are working too much. And missing church is no good...community is important. Granted, for much of the last year I've chosen sleeping in on Saturday mornings over having community, but, it's probably not the best plan.

I'd love to see you whenever you're free to visit. Maybe even a weekend when there aren't 30 other people in my apartment, so we can hang out.

Do you have any interest in this: http://www.rallytorestoresanity.com/? I think I'm going. I know our politics are different, but John Stewart is funny, and I'm fully in support of a rally for "No, actually, I'm not all that angry about anything, and generally too busy to get involved."

I guess I'm a grownup because I worry like crazy when they travel. I felt super bad that Mom wasn't there to help Dad when he went to NJ a few weeks ago, I was sure that he was gonna get lost.

Also, you forgot to mention playing Mario in your exciting life recap.

I was too! I mean, he used to travel all over the northeast when he worked at Ford, there shouldn't be a reason for me to worry. But a lot of things are automated now that didn't used to be, and a lot of stuff is announced over the loudspeaker that you know he can't hear. I worry.

Yes, that would be when I Gave Up over the weekend. Where giving up means only working 6 hours on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. I did catch up on my DVR in my time off, too. Mario actually helps with the stress. It amazes me, since I am really not very good.

I miss youuuuuuuuu!

Yeah, he really isn't so good with the technology that is everywhere nowadays. I stopped worrying about the loudspeaker though, because I couldn't even hear him on the phone when they made an announcement.

Catching up on DVR is good. Did you watch SPN? And video games are stress reducing. Even if I lose, my anger at the game makes me a lot less stressed about Real Life.

& I miss youuuuuuuu. Also can you mayhaps call me when you have a chance? I'm kinda worried about something and you are the Most Knowledgeable among people I know.
