I had a dream last night that I had exactly one week to live. Did I go blow all my savings (hah!) on fun, outrageous things? No. I spent that whole week making plans to shut down my life like you would shut down a vacation home when you leave to get back to work and school. I was disturbed this morning when I woke up. I think I've been seeing too ( Read more... )

I woke up 30 minutes earlier today than I have been (which is about an hour later than I was going in before break, idek). I got to work at exactly the same time as yesterday. I move slower the earlier I get up, apparently. I've just been kind of tired and blah feeling this month. I am hoping that exercise will change that, but I have to find some time to exercise in the first place. I could definitely use this better mood that you speak of.

I usually work out with the help of my Wii, but by the time I get home my roommate is already ensconced on the couch watching reruns. Maybe I will just move the Wii upstairs.

I already stretch and try to work out in bits and pieces while I am waiting for things in the lab, but longer workouts are better for building up my lungs and heart. Between my allergies and the B12 thing, they need all the help they can get.

I just got a wii & wii fit, & I LOVE using them to workout. I mean, I love them, but I guess not enough to make it a daily thing. Because I, too, woke up a half hour earlier this morning, but failed to work out. I even made it to school later than usual. How does that happen? Physicists need to figure out this phenomenon.

How far are your from school? Have you ever thought about commuting via bike? When it's not 20 degrees or snowing here, I love my bike commute. I get a good workout in, and it takes me less time than driving in traffic, parking, and walking does. I know it's not possible for everyone, but bike commuting does get you a workout without taking time out of your busy day.

I love the Wii! I have a couple of different workout programs, so I can switch it out. I do not, however, love working out in front of an audience, particularly my roommate who has no problem laughing at me.

I think the whole late thing is because I know I have a little extra time, so my routine just kind of expands to fill it. Also, I tend to move slower and be less focused when I am more groggy. To be honest, I am starting to think I have some sort of seasonal thing going on. Lack of sunlight and cold weather are sapping the energy out of me.

Biking isn't really an option for me, as I have to take the interstate. Also, I do not own a bike. This is probably for the best, as I am not a very good bike rider. Like a hazard to myself and others bike rider. I guess I am just going to have to suck it up and get up earlier.

I'm the opposite of Natalie. I do the group fitness classes at my gym. They have classes at 5:15, 6:30, and 7:30 so there's usually something I can get to. And if I have an hour long incubation, I'll set it up to go while I'm at the gym and stop it when I get back. If I didn't have the group class as motivation, I would never work out, and Duke has a lot of interesting ones, like dancey classes, kickboxing, step, and weights. If there's a game at the gym, I just do some weights at home before dinner. You should check out the state classes. We also need to get together at some point.

Wow, finding the group fitness schedule was more difficult than it has any right to be. A lot of them have additional fees, but there are a few here that might work. I am on a different campus than the gym, though, so there are some logistics to work out.

Also, we should do something this weekend. I miss you! I can do lunch on Saturday or Sunday.
