I am a sucker for the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. So, I went to see Beastly in the theater yesterday. It was really bad. Just not good. They should be handing these out as you walk into the theater:

Thanks for the review:-) I, too, am usually a sucker for anything Beauty and the Beast, but now I will pointedly avoid this incarnation.

Hope things are going well for you other than wasting time and money on a crappy movie.

I can usually enjoy bad movies (Sharktopus, anyone?), but this was more the Staring Into Each Others Eyes While Reading Modern Poetry bad. Also, the audience had a large contingent of teenage girls who thought the movie was *GREAT*. I know, because they informed the entire theater of every thought that went through their heads.

I am doing ok. I actually got some great news over the weekend, and it made everything a bit better. :)

Neil Patrick Harris was entertaining, but it was like a toned-down version of his character on HIMYM.

wait, there's a BOOK? I assume you loved it because it is good? Why have I not heard of it?

All my friends here only read biology books. I am missing out on important information by hanging out with only one breed of nerd.

I have not read it myself, but Amanda tells me good things. I also really like Robin McKinley's takes on the tale (she wrote 2).
