My taxes are done!

I am not dead, just even busier than usual. I have been working 10-12 hour days every day for the last month or so. I have a conference coming up in the first week of May. The data for that talk is not something I have obtained yet, so you can understand my panic stringent work ethic.  Anyway, some accumulated news and random bits of information:

And yay free tickets!
I am beyond excited for GoT. I keep reading awesome reviews and it's just making me more excited. Can't wait for this weekend so I can see it.

I am contemplating getting HBO. In fact, I am pretty much decided. I want to switch to DirecTV, since I would be paying half of what I am paying now plus HBO for free for three months. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to call to schedule a set-up. I definitely don't have time to wait for a technician between the hours of 8AM to 8PM.

That's good news! I just reread FFC and am very worried about Brienne.

Yay! Congrats Auntie-to-be! Being an aunt has certainly increased my desire to spend time with my family and visit FL about 45400%. You're going to love being an aunt. It's awesome. I can't wait to hear stories from proud Auntie Kerri about her adorable niece/nephew ( ... )

Thanks! I am super excited. I have already purchased little tiny socks I saw at Target.

My roommate is being fabulous about all this. I am trying to help out as much as I can, but she is still doing the lion's share of the cooking. I think that I must look even more tired and stressed than I feel, because she is being super helpful.

She has been worse than usual lately. My sister said that, apparently, my mom is fishing for info b/c she heard from Mikey that I told my dad I had a job offer or something. I was like "I have a job offer?" So yeah. Don't know what's happening there, but I will have to clear the air.

Well, Lucinda almost killed me on the way to work this morning, so I hope Zila is behaving better.

Thanks! It really makes a huge difference having a partner. I don't always make it, b/c sometimes I have to go in early and start lab work. But 5 days out of 7 is pretty good.

I <3 tiny socks. Also, new niece or nephew = excuse to buy They Might Be Giants cd's. (Their Here Comes Science album is great:-) And every cute children's book you see. I think I kept my local Borders afloat the past 2 years stocking up on baby books for Jayden (I started as soon as I knew he was coming). I recently weaned myself off buying them (one kid only needs about 328 cardboard books about animals). A few weeks later, my Borders had a going out of business sale. Coincidence? I think not ( ... )

Getting a flat on the interstate qualifies as attempted murder. How can they not have Honda Fit tires in stock? There are like 15 of them in my parking garage alone. Quite popular lately.

And isn't that they way of things? Everything broken with no one to help. I am lucky that my roommate has been able to drive me around a bit.

Congratulations on your impending aunt-hood! :D

I'm so jealous! I want to see Avenue Q really badly. I hope you get to go!

I'm very slowly working through the first book, but I made it far enough that I was comfortable watching the first episode of HBO's adaption of Game of Thrones. Luckily I judged my progress well and only saw things I had already read. I'm hoping to have more reading time this week so I can - at the very least - be finished with the first book by this coming Sunday. Really loving everything so far, though!

I think I have my schedule arranged so that I can go. *fingers crossed*

I haven't been able to watch the first episode yet, but I am glad that you like it so far! I really like the books, and I am hoping that the show can do them justice.

I think those of us who have read the books will have a distinct advantage over those who haven't. (...I guess that's a bit of an obvious thing to say.)

Since it's all fresh in my mind, I'm picking up on little things here and there that I'm glad they took the time to nod to. I've also noted couple of tiny differences, once in particular I'm curious about. But having not read ALL of it yet, I suppose there might be a valid reason for the change I haven't gotten to, haha.

Forgive me for being cryptic, I just don't want to spoil the show for you!
