I just got the strangest voicemail on my home phone from my district GOP chair. He wanted Mr. My Last Name to volunteer at the polling place for the primaries. And he made it sound like it was a continuing conversation. There isn't a Mr. here, and if there was, he wouldn't be a member of the GOP. That's odd.

During the 2008 elections, a GOP rep called me and asked me to vote for McCain in the primaries. I informed him that I'm a registered Democrat, and so could not vote for McCain in the primaries even if I wanted to. He then argued with me, saying that his records indicated that I was a registered republican. I said, no, I'm registered democrat, and he continued to argue with me. I finally hung up on him.

Ah yes, arguing with you is sure to get your vote! Ugh.

I'm not registered for either party, mostly because the candidates around here are a bunch of nincompoops. Our governor recently suggested suspending elections in Congress for two years. See? Nincompoop. And she has been the best of the lot.
