so we are watching this movie about the protest against the WTO in seattle in '99 in my us history class. it made me sad to see that all the people who were being peaceful were arested and brutally beaten and shot at with rubber bullets and tear gas and shit. my student teacher that showed the video was actually there and was shot with this wooden ( Read more... )

While most of the police were dicks, so were a bunch of the protesters. Those Black Bloc sons-of-whores caused millions of dollars in property damage. Remain peaceful and try not to physically damage anything and you should be fine.

If you protest I'll be the one beating you for being a retard. It's a little more complex than you would think, that's how politics are. People were paid by organizations to riot. The people that wanted protest wouldn't even risk their own necks. Alot of people protesting were a bunch of fuck-heads. There were however, people who did give a fuck. And your student teacher is a dumbass, if he thought that it would have been a peaceful protest. Of course you are going to get fucked up in a riot.
