to the protestors, hippies, dreamers and peace lovers:

your messages of peace are lovely, but don't tell my president to "suck your cock" or compare him to hitler. that's just wrong, especially when sadaam is the fucking madman.

that's all. feel free to post your hateful comments (kind of hypocritical when you call for peace).

i won't post a hateful comment. but i know what you're getting at. as someone who is one of those peace lovers/protesters, i know saddam needs to be taken out of power. i may not agree with everything that bush does, and i may not agree with all of his goals, and as much as i am anti-war and conflict, he IS taking action. maybe not the way that i'd personally like, but something is being done. but it seems like the peace lovers who do the most name calling are the ones who simply see this all as violence. and it's more than that.

i didn't want this war just as much as everyone i was at peace rallys with. but bush isn't completly insane. he's not doing things without thinking. and the last thing "peace lovers" should be doing is childish name calling. because that doesn't make anything easier for anyone.

anyway. just felt like this needed a reply.

it saddens me deeply that you use the phrase 'pease lovers' as if it is a curse, some nasty thing to be. "peace lovers!" its a shame, that you see 'peace lovers' as synonymous with 'dreamers'. that is all.

Right now PEACE is a Utopian idea ... why continue to protest and waste effort on something that CANNOT be achieved right now??!!?

So...
Thank you thank you THANK YOU Lauren,
I thought I was the only one out there who wasn't too busy throwing a Frisbee or holding hands in protest, to actually observe what's going on in the world...actually UNDERSTAND why this war is inevitable...and ALTHOUGH war is HORRIBLE...the benefits that will come of it.

I also find it ironic how some of the "peace pushers" can be so God damn hostile and rude
"Back off Sunshine"
I also can't respect most of it because the majority of them dont know what their talking about or cant back up their opinion..
{PHEW} I'm done, sorry for the long comment...but KUDOS to you Lauren, there's hope for us yet.

yeah i find it ironic when people call for peace they are also throwing stones at police officers (people who are protecting us!). to be honest, in a way i wish i could hold that hope of peace so stongly...i want something to stand for, but i'm not going to block the streets and become unrealistic about it. do people actually think that if they sign a petition it will stop the war? yeah they're just trying to do their part, but use the energy and time to do something more productive ( ... )

lauren, some people don't get automatically protected by the police. you do - you're WHITE.

if no one does anything, nothing happens. its petitions that do work, its protesting that might finally get noticed. what's more productive than being a voice of dissent in the light of so many innocent people getting killed (at the most basic level of this conflict)?

instead of thanking those who are going to die, try thinking about trying to bring them back. they shouldn't be in the position where they have to give their life for their country, there's NO NEED.

i'm glad you can sit on your high horse and thank national guards. that's very good of you. but have you seen this?

wow don't bring up the race card in here. this has NOTHING to do with race.

and i'm not on a high horse at all m'dear. and i don't need pictures to tell me how terrible war is. i know war is terrible.

and why think everyone who is over there is going to die. that's not very hopeful now is it?

Lauren, those peace lovers are trying to tell the world that they're scared.
I don't think anyone out there can say it in any better way. "We're scared that this war will make Einstein's prediction come true. We don't want to die, and we don't want to watch millions of other people die."
I think that's the only message they're trying to get across. Even if they are doing a horrible job. I'm sorry that you see them as horrible people, but just remember, they are still only human. They have errors and flaws the same you we all do.
I want peace because to me, bringing a baby into this world when it's wracked by a war very few support is actually among the last thing I wanted.

Saddam is a madman and needs to be stopped. Nobody wants war but force must be used to get the job done. Bush and all other nations involved are trying to only go for Saddam and the "dirty dozen". They are avoiding civilian casualties as much as possible and even warned them ahead of time! Saddam didn't want to step down, give up his weapons, or leave the country so he deserves what's coming to him. We were rational, peaceful, and gave him many chances... now his time is up.

uh, heather? would you sign up to fight? how nice of bush to warn everyone ahead of time! i can't believe that the good and caring mr bush is sending other people in to get killed for him. he's a warmonger and rational is not something i would label him as, but you eat those freedom fries and feel good about bush ignoring the u.n. yeah.

he's not sending other people to kill for him. the people that are in now volunteered and believe in the cause. You think that Saddam should be let to go about what he's doing? The US isn't aiming for civilians... they're aiming for Saddam. Do you even know all of the stuff he's done to his people? He has killed 5% of his own population and his own citizens are scared of him.

they believe in what cause? read jeeff's comment on this page, it is one of the more eloquent comments i've read on this whole situation.

the us may not be aiming for civilians, but i guess you just see it as unfortunate that they might -and probably will - get in the way.

i'm surprised you're not afraid of bush. i am.
