Sarah, Henry and I had a week in Whitby in May (just after the other Goth Weekend), but rather than stay in a B&B we self catered in a cottage we found via http://www.ingridflute.co.uk/

Hmmm, youth hostels have been vetoed by the more picky member of the group :-)

I stayed in one recently and was very pleased by it - but I have no problem with seven other people in the room. Met some really interesting people at breakfast - hostels are a bit like conventions in that regard.
