Calling all Germans- Question

Mar 28, 2007 17:05

Anyone heard of this book:   "Der Soldat in der bildenden Kunst - 15. bis 20. Ja."  Author: Uhlitzsch, Joachim

Just wondering if the $13 book is worth the $20 shipping.

When it doubt, ILL it!
There are plenty of copies in the US that your local library will be able to get you one, if not, mine will and I can tell you if its worth getting or not.

What specificaly are you looking for? I've got some good leads on new resources......

Oh, I was just looking for different stuff. Anything with pics that I don't have. I really need to grow my library and I happened to run accross it in my search for TH...which sadly I still can't get. I just have a desire to delve deeper into all things German.

Do you have the Single-leaf woodcuts? Or Durer's complete works? I got them recently and they are wonderful, and a whole lot cheaper than I thought they'd be.

You can get them both on CD-Rom from this site
http://world.std.com/~shw/CdRomsEnglish.html
The titles are
49595. Dürer, Albrecht / Lehmstedt, Mark, hrsg. Albrecht Dürer: Das Gesamtwerk

And
70243. Einblattholzschnitte. Deutsche Einblattholzschnitte 1500 bis 1700
He gives a discount when you order more than one thing, can't remember how much though.

Ohhh...that's great. I have the single leaf woodcuts series (although having it on cd-rom sure would make it easier..the books are huge), but not the Complete works of Durer. I think I'll pick them up.
