Ah, damn...

A coughing fit yesterday meant that I spilled a little blackcurrant Lemsip on my keyboard. I thought it was fine, but have noticed today that a few of the keys are staying down rather longer than they should.

Anyone know the best way of cleaning sticky crap out? Or should I lob it and buy a new one?

I've dismantled keyboards before and just cleaned out the gunk. You have to be careful re-assembling but it should work.

Personally, I wouldn't bother. Sticky liquids are the kiss of death to keyboards. However, it depends on the style of keyboard (membrane, mechanical, etc.) and where the spill is. Membrane keyboards are the most common, so chances are that's what it is, in which case you can usually pop the keys off with a screwdriver to clean underneath. If it's the larger keys that are affected - Space, Enter, right shift, then you may well have problems getting them back on, so just buy a new one.
In business terms it costs more to have me dismantle and clean one than it does to buy one new, but if you have the time and inclination...
