I just looked up the scene where they all meet on the train, where Hermione is described as being slightly chubby with bushy brown hair and... there's no mention of weight.
That's what I get for talking off the top of my head, and not looking things up. I still think there's been mention of Hermione's weight somewhere, but I'll have to search for it before commenting on it.
I'm sorry you have trouble with your weight. It's awful that we live in a society where you're damned if you're not skinny and dammned if you are. But I'm afraid that I can see JKR's point. The media does show us thinness to excess and I can see why she'd want to rant about it. When one or two people around are very, very thin, it doesn't have to be an eating disorder/problem/anything. But so many actresses look horrific these days and most magazines are filled with that. JKR's comments aren't directed that people who ARE naturally thin - they are directed at the celebrity culture that shows thinness as perfection

Hermione is not descibed as chubby anywhere. Also Dudley is not merely overweight. He is morbidly obese until he takes up boxing--and that has more to do with his parents indulging his every whim as abuse. Harry's thinness is also a bad thing. Both kids are abused and that is the sign of their abuse

I agree with some of this (remember, Aunt Marge is fat too as is Uncle Vernon, but Aunt Petunia is thin and horsey) but I know what and who she was pointing fingers at *coughParisLindsayNicoleOlsenTwinscough* And I don't think that being anorexic should be treated as something fashionable. Not just because I am overweight and always have been but because they're clearly being given the go ahead to weigh 98 lbs as if it's a good/healthy thing.
You can't help your weight anymore more than I can but I'd rather see a positive body model like Catherine Zeta Jones or a few other women with some meat on their bones that girls with eating disorders (which I know you don't have!).
Hermione never is described as chubby though. Anywhere.
Of course, I see JKR's hypocrisy lying more in how a number of female characters behaved in HBP more than their dress size, but that's just me.
Oh, and Bellatrix is also gaunt and evil while Hagrid is hardly Mr. Universe. ;)

I know your intentions were probably good. It's just that theirs aren't. So please don't do it again?
