Congrats! Keeping fingers crossed for you & faeflitt as well (remind me to tell you about pea-hen & chick experience at zoo recently) I can sooo see you both enjoying rural life. Good luck!

Thanks! I actually lived rural for a few years in SC... it made sense to live very close to the Savannah River Site and commute to town on the weekends rather than living an hour away and commuting five days a week. I lived on 5 acres, half of them wooded. The privacy was nice - you could come home from work, strip naked and jump right into the backyard pool. However, the pool was a pain in the ass to maintain... and it is hard to get people to come visit when you live 30 minutes out into the country-side... so it is something for us to balance. That, and effective distance varies depending on where you live. 75 miles to Socorro is no big deal here... but in the east, it is considered a trip.

faeflitt is very much the big-city girl, so this would be rather the change for her.

Of course, there is also the possibility of living on the beach and getting hit yearly by hurricans. We shall just have to see.

I wish I could make it up to Wilmington to see you... but it's a little far in the middle of a work week with a breast-feeding baby. Oh well. Of course, I'm hoping for Wilmington to work out, but what I really want is for you and faeflitt to find someplace where you can persue your dreams and be happy!

I understand completely. It would have been fun, I had time, but was able to fill it wandering around the beaches and the historic districts. Hopefully it works out better next time.

I did get a good job offer of the visit, so we shall see where things end up... it is really a matter of getting the two extant ones on paper and then making a decision. Hopefully I have the paper on both sometime this week.
