Could I ask a question of the experienced writers out there? Someone just complained that my 'love parts are similar.' I'm not sure if she meant the physical descriptions or the emotional dynamic

Oh, thank you, Kathleen! My first two stories were written almost at the same time and I used the same words without thinking. When I realized what I was doing and that I'd be writing more stories, I did get more comfortable with the scenes and started trying to vary them

Oh, I'm so glad you think so! Thank you! I've got tons of stories in my head and, as long as people don't mind that they really are variations on the same theme, I'll keep on writing.
I agree with Kathleen. Don't you dare stop writing. Your stories are sooo good, I'm ashamed to even post mine.
This is one of the reasons I'm not writing as much smut in my stories. There's only so many different ways to have sex, either physically or emotionally.
I'm trying to learn how to put in more plot or adventure and things. Problem is that my stories are so romance oriented that they really need the smut - everything leads to that. Which is why I got so worried, because there really are only so many ways.
I'm so glad you're enjoying my stories anyway. The fun for me is playing with the different emotional states and reactions. I'll certainly keep on writing and try to find different words and hope people won't mind the possible similarity.

I'd love to be able to write for a living! *sigh* Hopefully working up to it by learning the craft on these Spuffy stories, which are so much fun to write!
Thank you for the link - it will really be useful! I'm sorry this reply is late. I was helping my guy on one of his photo shoots in the backwoods and we were a long way from any Internet access.
I'm no writer so I can't help; I only heard of a thesaurus once (even a sex thesaurus) once but I've lost the link. I'm looking forward to read more of yours; not wanting to see you go *hugs*
I totally lost my confidence there for a while! But you and Kathleen and Maryperk have given it back to me! I've located a really good thesaurus :D and I guess most people won't mind if there are still some similarities as long as the stories are different. Thank you!
Do you mind if I friend you? I lubs your stuff. <3
Also, do you mind telling me where the reviewer contacted you? I received a similar review the other day (and was actually directed here...I didn't know you were on LJ!) It pissed me off, but eh, there's not much you can do to please everyone.
Insofar as your love scenes being similar -- just ignore whatever Reviewer X told you. I'm pretty sure I've read all your fics (the completed ones, anyway...am much too impatient for WIPs), and I've never once found them repetitive or too descriptive or anything that would warrant a criticism of the way you write. As others have said, sex ain't rocket science. There are only so many ways you can write "insertion of Rod A into Slot B" without getting too technical, mechanical, or, let's face it, gross.
You're one of the newer authors (and by "new," I mean, "showed up in the last two years or so" ... I've been around too long) whose work I really like. There are a few stories I've read but you, along with dampersnspoons, pretty much have a

Golly, yes! You can 'friend' me! And can I 'friend' you back? Thank you! I'm sorry this reply is late! I was helping my guy on a photo shoot and we were in the backwoods and unable to get onto the Internet.
That review came through Elysian Fields. But I don't think she meant anything by it. It was just her way of thinking. On a previous review on another story, she mentioned that I needed to 'freshen up my work'. I think that's just the way she talks, but that stung as well. :D I have a tendency to be put off writing for a couple of days after reading one of her reviews. What on earth do you mean that you were directed here? Was that in the review you got?
I got sort of disheartened and worried that I was boring people by being repetitious, and started thinking I shouldn't post anymore, just write for myself. But all you guys have been great! And if you say I'm not boring you and you're having fun reading my stories, I'll keep on posting.
