Just want to tell you!

Hey, everybody!  I know I haven’t been posting on LJ for ages, but that’s been because I’ve been so busy writing an original, non-BtVS novel that I hoped to sell to the epublishers.  It’s a 95,000-word novel about my Shifters in ‘Running Wild’ except set in our world, and it took over a year to write ( Read more... )

Yay :)
Well done! Looking forward to it.
Tell us more when you have a release date, author name etc. so I won't miss it.
I'm getting their newsletter so I hopefully I'll recognize it. :D

Thank you! I will tell everyone when I do have a release date. The title will be 'Driving Force' which is confirmed and contracted, and the author name will be Jo Andrews. You should see me freaking out! :D

Thank you!
Are you @ Goodreads? If not, get an (author) account there.
I see two other Jo Andrews, one from USA and one from GB.
Maybe it helps to get more known.

Holly is there, too and Sotia (from the spuffy fandom). Kallysten too but she too isn't active in the fandom any longer, at last not in the spuffy one.

I thought you had to have a book available to put it up on Goodreads. All the social media stuff is greek to me. I'm going to have to learn, maybe get a website, things like that. Yikes! Scary. :D

Hi, just wanted to say congratulations :) I "found" the wonderful world of Spuffy only last week and your stories are the best ones I have read so far (I'm devouring spuffy fic at a dangerous rate atm), you have real talent!

Thank you! I started writing Spuffy because I love Buffy and Spike so much and also because it was such a fun way to learn to write and get feedback. If it wasn’t for Spuffy sites like Elysian Fields, The Spuffy Realm and The Bloodshedverse, I don’t think I’d have learned how to write well enough to sell. :)

Question! Did you have someone beta-read your stories before posting them? Also, any recommendations on where/how to find a good beta for my first Spuffy story?

(I'm supposed to be writing completely different things, but I was scrolling through the challenge list on Elysian Fields and one of them just spoke to me, damnit)

I was so unsure about my abilities when I was writing my Spuffy stories that I never did get a beta for them. I'm obsessive-compulsive about getting my stories perfect before letting anyone see them, so they were all completed by the time I posted them and I had worked on them all by myself. By the time I got around to writing an original novel for publication I was a lot more relaxed and did run it by a couple of critique partners.
I have no experience with betas, but you can find some terrific ones at The Bloodshedverse (http://www.bloodshedverse.com/betalist.php)or at The Spuffy Realm (http://spikeluver.com/SpuffyRealm/authors.php?list=betas)
