When I previously used Livejournal, I would occasionally post a pastiche Hitchhikers' article to share with my friends. Online Urban Science Fiction & Fantasy Magazine
I'm thinking of publishing an online magazine that focuses on Urban Science Fiction & Fantasy. The plan is to use InDesign then put it up on Magcloud. Contributors get royalties, although a headline writer might get an up-front fee if I can get enough advance interest.
Print copies will be a luxury, probably made available through crowd funding.

Hay today, Gone tomorrow
Last weekend I decided to check out a pub that's up for lease/auction in Hay-on-Wye. I last visited in the lead up to Christmas, and the big news at he the was that the Castle was up for sale. Underworld: Soporific
The first two Underworld movies were a guilty pleasure of mine. The gorgeous Kate Beckinsale all PVC'd up, Bill Nighy all Camped up, Michael Sheen all Wigged up, and what were essentially a couple of low budget Brit flicks were Ramped up!

A note about Fringeworks
I've had an offsite enquiry about what exactly I have planned for Fringeworks. These are initial thoughts I'm sharing with friends, and not a big announcement or, indeed, a nailed down programme. I can be prolific once the ball is rolling, but these things take time.

Fixers Anthology: DEAD FAMOUS
So, I've agreed to publish my first anthology under the Fringeworks imprint, which will be edited by Theresa Derwen (not nailed down my own editorial input yet). It's provisionally called DEAD FAMOUS, and Theresa hopes it will be volume 1 of "The Fixers" series.

The not so Iron Lady
I went to see 'The Iron Lady' today with mixed expectations. I knew it was politics-lite, but all the same I was hoping for something a little more substantial in its look back at Thatcher's Britain. The art of Livejournal blogging is, I'm sure, far from dead, but as an abandoner (way back in March), I suddenly found that a restless night thrashing the duvet for no good reason restored the urge, at least, to revisit my year and to look to the future.
