Most (if not all) schools have a financial aid department that will give you all the information that you need about rates, lenders, and so forth. At my program the financial aid office is excellent and if you find that you need more or less throughout a semester, it can be adjusted. I go through discover bank for my loans, but the school sets is all up. I just fill out paperwork once a year. I am also of the understanding that slowly and dutifully paying off student loan debt can increase your credit score quite a bit. It's an investment, after all.
