I'm so excited. After much researching and work, I've managed to convince Jim that we should do a CSA Farm Share this summer. This means I get 18 weeks of fresh picked, local, almost or organic, non GMO fruits and veggies this summer. I know 7, that's SEVEN women having babies this year from April - June. That's insane!

It makes me very happy to have my biggest soup pot full of chocolate ganache and my largest mixing bowl full of chocolate mousse.

Oh yes, I'm making my cousin's wedding cake this weekend. Can you tell it's a chocolate cake?

So Jim finally has a job! Hurray! It's a full-time temporary position with the Portland School District. He's doing tech stuff and inventory through the end of August. It is my sincere hope that he will be hired on at the end of the summer, but there's no way of knowing that. For now, I am content. The only tricky part is we have one car... So Jim ( Read more... )

I only worked 5.57 hours this week. For the past 10 weeks I have worked 20 hours per week at best.

I am very scared.

I have a job again, hurray! And a pastry gig at that!

Starting tomorrow, I will be making and decorating cakes at Jaciva's in Portland. What is so awesome? Well, they're one of the best bakeries in Portland with a stellar reputation. They are clean, well organizes, family owned, I get basic benefits... I have high hopes that this will be lovely.

So I'm sure you've all noticed how much (i.e. little) I blog. Well, now that I'm getting married (less than 2 months away!) Jim and I have started a web page. ...was a wonderful dream. Actually, it was more than that, as I have realized it now and do, in fact, love being a pastry chef/cake decorator. Seriously, I do.
