Well, after two days at my new job, I'm tired and sore, but I'm generally feeling pretty good about this. I think housekeeping is pretty much the perfect shit job for someone like me: I don't have to deal with people and I have long, involved physical tasks that keep my attention. And I get a sense of accomplishment in the form of clean rooms.

I have no sympathy for people who claim to be traumatized by perfectly normal childhoods.

I'm not saying that I have no sympathy for abuse victims--far from it. I know people whose lives have been irreparably damaged by physical and sexual abuse; I know even more people who are emotionally stunted because of verbally cruel, cold, demanding parents. ( Read more... )
