HOW did I miss that lady from SPACE??? She is so good! I would totally have bought something from her! Uhg. I hope she's there next year...
I'm real, real glad to see the Girls Drawing Girls site you linked to. I discovered this http://www.shesmykindofgirl.com/ a year or so ago, which includes a lot of artists I think highly of, and it's all pretty good art- but it is suspiciously an all male group of artists. So! Nice to see some lady-drawn-ladies, even if its a completely separate site.
Me too! Although if the Reed Gunther peeps are there, it's a good bet she'll be there. Oh, also, forgot to include, she does have a deviantart here as well: http://kass204.deviantart.com/ Since that's where I get most of my artist updates, I figured I'd mention it.
Oh, that does sound a bit sketch...but also looks interesting! I will check it out later. Yeah, I was really happy to see it too! It irks me that the ladies get relegated to the background when it comes to art, especially sexy or pinup-type art (unless, of course, they are the models).
Thanks for the link! Also, it occurred to me that you might like the work of http://kidchan.deviantart.com/, I don't think you've had her (?) stuff in your 10th lists. She does some pretty interesting stuff with color and pattern that I think you'd enjoy.
Ah, I'm actually already watching her on deviantart. I like her stuff well enough, but there's something about it that just doesn't hit my buttons...it might be that it's not dynamic enough for my tastes. She is very good, though, excellent rec. :)
Also, if people want to rec other artists, I always love looking at art.
I very much doubt that I could have found someone on deviantart before you did, but just in case: have you seen arcipello's work? He plays with a number of different styles, not all of which would appeal to you, but I do think you might like some of the things he does with color and light. (Some samples: Blood Red Tree, Splash down, Sketchy Scenes, Forget Me Not, and Scarlet Wind.)
