1) It's not the same test every time done over and over, it's a continuation - they need to see over time how much of the drug I took is still in my system.

They actually came to us - they needed a large enough group that was non-smoking, not on meds and generally healthy to test on - there are a lot of those kinds of people in yeshivot and midrashot. The group also had to be large enough for their effort to come to the midrasha to do it instead of us going to Hadassa all the time.
Frankly, I don't know if you can do it independantly - I think they go for groups. But there are planty of things like this out there. For instance, they did this same experiment at all these universities, I'm sure they had a sign up for it - just send a scout to the closest university to check it out.
