because it's not spring without baby animals....

I've updated Pie's Flickr stream.

Saturday was her first day EVER out at pasture. You can tell by the photos that she was filled with joy, curiosity, and exuberance.

I spend a lot of time just looking through these photos, lately :)

Goodness, the legs on her! She'll be tall, won't she? She's all like, "What's that? And that? And that?" And the other horses are all interested.

Yes, she'll probably be VERY tall. Don't know how well versed you are in horse measurement, but mom is about 16.2 hands and dad is 17 hands. A hand is 4 inches, and they measure them to the withers - the highest point of the shoulder, or roughly where the neck and back meet. Yes, that does translate to Pie growing up to have a back that's roughly 5'8" high :)

and OMG, now that I put it in feet I'm thinking, *I'm* not riding that beast! LOL
But Serena's not much smaller, and neither is Tru - in fact Tru is closing in on 17 hands and after his year off in WA will probably be over that.

I know a little about horses, and a little about Warmbloods. Yousa. That'll be a big girl.

Yes! there's a story behind it, too - I just missed catching the second before that one, where she smacked her mom in the face with that raised hoof, as if to say, "hey, stop eating and pay attention to ME!" All four of us in the pasture were doubled over laughing :)
