Lovely day
It has been a lovely day today. I spent most of it with a wild, ferocious, and totally loveable Dragon Lady. We dunked our spawn in water over and over again, took them down many a water slide, and the Dragon Lady was beat by a life guard with an inner tube. It is so very hard to maintain contact with my grief when I have a lap full of warm wiggling puppies. That experience was delightful. Little fuzzy beasties of joy! And in a mere three weeks one of those beasties of joy will be keeping me up at night and waking me up in the middle of the night to take her out to pee and all of that will be so worth ( Read more... ) -
Loss
My cousin and his beautiful wife just welcomed their second baby boy into their lives. He has down syndrome. I am reading their blogs, cheering them on, and supporting them in every way I can and I have realized that I am awash in grief. I am looking forward to holding little Levi and whispering his name in his ear, I want to study his little face ( Read more... ) -

I was thrilled at the idea of a whole day without my boys. I feel the urge to do something creative today. I think in the quiet moments of the day I'll do some writing. Then tonight I will draw or paint. Revelations
I stopped today to have a moment of reflection and ask myself why I overeat at times or why I sometimes make bad choices in what I eat. The answer was quite simple. What void am I trying to fill?
