Unclear on the concept

Passing through the library today, I stopped to flip through the complaints & comments book. Most were nothing special, but one person's complaint was a thing of beauty. The library, they point out, is organised by subject. The books, though, are laid out by number. So when you look up a book all it tells you is the number, and how are you supposed ( Read more... )

The inner future-librarian in me just curled up in a corner to cry.

The one possibility might be that maybe it's in a different subject than they thought, like if it could be in one of a few places or something because it could fit in multiple disciplines.

How would they suggest organizing the library?

The genes of my mother and grandfather curled up to cry, too.

The didn't actually suggest a solution, other than "provide maps!". Which the library already does, abundantly. Someone has a loooong degree ahead of them, if they do not figure this one out.
