They're called "carbiners", and I'd love a few if you have some laying around. I can reappropriate them into my miniscule grip and lighting gear.

Be cautious with any 'biners you get from anything other than "normal" supply houses. They're usually very low quality and will fail under even extremely light loads. Stick to actual hardware manufactured for rigging (preferable) or climbing (acceptable, but OSHA won't like it).

Of course, if you're just hanging some gel frames or something, it's probably fine.

I doubt I'd even trust them for that much (gels). I just want some carbiners to attach to C-47 bags and scrim bags so I can hang them anywhere I like. Or, just use them in my car to hang shit from the ceiling so I have space on the floor for boxes, etc. I sure as hell wouldn't use anything with a company brand name on it (other than the brand name of the 'biner manufacturer) as a light safety or camera safety.

Yeah, I didn't figure you'd be using them for rigging, but a deep down part of me just had to say something. I've seen such things done by well meaning and intelligent people who were just trying to save a buck. Luckily, it was noticed before anything bad happened.

This was exactly the laugh I needed.

But I have no idea what a stress puff is. Can you bring me a few? Particularly the ones that your co-workers stole that were specifically purchased and packaged for Barb.

I must say I'm particularly enamored with the term "douche-nozzle"
