Trying to bring LJ back into my social media ecosystem. Failing.

I occasionally hope that I could post private things on LJ, personal things on FB, and professional stuff on Twitter. Turns out I don't have patience for that sort of division and am usually fine posting inappropriate things on the latter two, deleting them from embarrassment shortly

The cyber-cafe I chilling at has blocked access to everything not on port 80.....everything! I shudder and wither and generally feel that my interweb experience has been robbed when I have no remote shell. Genealogy? - Things have transpired in such a way that I now have ancestors. Not, like, "our forefathers"-type abstract ancestors, or great-gramma's ramblings-type ancestors, but a documented lineage, with names and dates, going back several centuries.
