So, Anna's plan for reconciling herself to an unexpectedly long sojourn in DC involves extensive redecorating. A couple suggestions, that you've probably already tried, although I didn't see them specifically enumerated:
(1) remove the legs of the couch. They usually just unscrew, and will give about 4 inches extra clearance
(2) remove the door from the hinges. You said you pulled the frame, so I imagine you did this too, but maybe not.

If all else fails, you could rent a boomlift and put it in through a window, assuming you have: (a) a window facing the street that is large enough and (b) the desire to spend a shitload of money on a cool boomlift rental.

Yeah...removed the legs already (we knew we were gonna have to do that, based on measurements) and the windows weren't even a question, though we did give it serious reconsideration in the darkest hours.

How's the new job coming along by the way?
