you mock my pain?!

I seem to have found a rather compelling explanation for my recent ill health. I have been reading this book that I am rather fond of, called, "If The Buddha Dated." In this book, I came across some crucial information, the accuracy of which I further confirmed in a discussion with a Psychiatrist friend ( Read more... )

I think if I were there, I would take you into my lap in a nice, rocking/recliner and just hold you so we could both get some human contact time.

I will definitely be missing you at this new year's party, as will the rest of the forum... until we can set up one of those all-sensory interactive networks that were suggested at the last farm party... but it still won't be the same as real kinesthetic compassion... thank you... and keep up The Great Work!

Maybe next year or for this year's farm party, I can come, or we can take up a donation. I was thinking of coming this year, but Ireland and my trip to St. Louis for the SEAC/MAC conference have sucked dry my travel funds and my credit card now has too much money charged on it. I can't see spending another $250+ on a plane ticket at the moment.
I'll miss you guys too, and I'll be calling queenofhalves sometime before midnight to talk to everyone.

hmmmmm...
curiouser and curiouser?
the brain is certainly an extremely complex organ; but there does seem to be quite a bit of reinforcement of similar ideas, here.
whatever the exact chemical compounds, i do seem to be going through some severe withdrawl symptoms (along with whatever else is wrong with me); but perhaps it is all for the best in the end...

yeah, i have to admit that i've always been envious of the bond that you two have with one another... in an inspiring way, i should add!

and i must agree that the cost benefit analysis always works out in favor of long-term relationships over casual infatuations.

thank you for sharing your feelings, this really means a greal deal to me right now.

interesting. I have definitely been uber-healthy since being in love. I wondered why- thought maybe it was more my not going out being crazy all the time and doing bad things. but the whole cuddling thing- yeah, it rules my life. If I don't get adequate cuddle time I am cranky. I also read that women who use barrier contraception are less happy- it seems semen in the vagina makes for happy girlies.

sigh, poor love-sick me... i still crave a hearth and home and a family... woe is me...
the other side of the happiness of fluid bonding is this terrible withdrawl we go through if/when we are deprived of our lover's essence... i guess the higher the risk, the higher the payoff?!!
but yay for cuddling... we are mammals, after all... who need our warm fuzzies!

i am still immersed in poly-hippy/scifi/gamer geek culture, and cuddling continues to place extremely highly as a priority in our activities!

and i hear that cuddle parties are becoming more and more popular at college campuses across the nation (complete with cover charges!)

I think you've touched on the main points of the direction for the future of human spirituality. If I weren't such a generalist then I would be tempted to specialize in this exact topic. Great post, thanks for the links! Good luck on the reset!! ;-P

Hey, thanks for the encouragement... that really means a lot to me.

Bummer that i missed the last coffee night, and y'all had already left sheilagh's solstice party by the time & i got there... looking forward to speaking with you at contentlove's on nye!

Being a generalitst seems to be working well for you, and i prefer it myself, usually. Although, i think that it is also useful to know people who specialize in crucial fields, with whom we can consult for expert opinions. I have always respected the integrity of people who follow one particular religion -- however, i tend to seek the similarities between the many different paths of spirituality, while i also respect and celebrate their unique differences. Similarly, tonight at the mojo_meeting, i was just mentioning this idea that i read about in pinkflesh17's journal... she had posted this Review of Mel Gibson's film "The Passion" by Rabbi Berk in which he mentions that he learned from his treacher, "if you want to discuss or criticize some one else's religion make sure someone from that religion is sitting down at ( ... )
