Title: Celebrations Fandom: Star Trek TOS Rating: PG Length: 8,252 Pairing: Kirk/Spock Summary: A series of celebrations throughout the year. Written for ksadvent2009 Notes: Part One can be found here.
I love this story. Seriously, I want to celebrate the Hope Festival holiday--that sounds ridiculously awesome! And Spock is deliciously careful in his slow progression of falling in love with Jim! He goes from "Not thinking about it" to "thoughts sliding off the subject but I can't deny it exists" to "foregone conclusion" pretty seamlessly in a way that was really great to observe.
I love that Jim wasn't pining away, just accepting that sometimes people don't like you in the same way. And that's okay; it just happens sometimes. <3. I love Jim being a mature adult. Sometimes quiet hope is much more appetizing than severe angst, and you get that across admirably.
I'm really glad that the progression of Spock's feelings was noticeable. I tried to keep it subtle and slow, because that's how I think it would happen for Spock. And the same for Jim. I don't see him pining away. For the most part, he seems like the kind of person who accepts things and moves on. (Admittedly, he does sometimes pick something to angst about, but from the series, that seems to be fairly rare. I mean, you don't hear him constantly complain about Tarsus or Edith Keeler, do you?).
I'm so happy that you liked it and that the characters seemed right to you in this way. I really appreciate the comment, thanks again. ♥
Lovely! I love the concept and I love the holidays you've created. I loved the holiday with the candles (when their candles melted together! aww), First Contact Day and, of course, Christmas. I liked the mistletoe! Spock's response at the end was perfect!
Thank you! When I was writing the scene about candles, I really really wanted theirs to melt together. I just couldn't get the image out of my head, and there you go.
I'm glad you enjoyed, and thank you for commenting. Also thank you for using that delicious icon, which I will now proceed to save to my hard drive. ♥
Eep, love this! :D I doubt Spock will hesitate to celebrate Rumarie with Jim in the future.
This line, to me, REEKS of unintended sexual innuendo: "...I do not see your character becoming tainted, and it is certainly not excessive indulgence if you deserve it.”
Oh my god, I melted into a puddle. This was the sweetest thing I've read in forever. Holy crap, this is officially going into my 'holiday' collection where I will re-read it FOREVER.
=D Your comment made me happy. I'm glad you enjoyed. ♥ Holiday fic is surprisingly awesome to write. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for taking the time to read and review! <3

You're right.
Completely right.
That Rumarie fic that is most certainly getting written? It's going to have that line in it for sure.
Excessive indulgence indeed.
Thank you for noticing that and commenting. ♥
