I am a touch jealous!!! but eventually if I got work with tigers or other large animals of prey they would turn and bite my head off. Horses are just nice and cool!!!! Glad to hear. YOu lucky lucky woman you
Not many get to live their life-long dreams; you're one of the.. not lucky, what's the word I'm looking for... well, you've actually pursued it and MADE your life-long dream come true. Me is so happy for yous :)
It's been YEARS (probably close to 12) since I've even been around a horse. Last time was when my uncle Gene was still living and he, my aunt and cousins Gene and David had horses when they were in Mississippi. Last time I ever rode a horse is when my cousin Paul didn't put the saddle on right (or maybe it was the wrong one?) and the horse started to go full-speed because he saw another one running. Saddle started to slide off to the left and I eventually fell off and into a ditch of thorn bushes :P
Kinda funny now that I look back on it, and I really did enjoy riding. When I get back to MN (probably will live just outside the cities), we'll have to go riding :)
I'll admit, I have been working pretty fucking hard the past few weeks, but it's paying off. Literally. I love horses, and riding is my favorite thing to do--I've said so for years--but it was stressful while I was trying to learn some things. Terry, the owner, has over 60 horses that are used on trail, and I have to learn every name and what level/age each horse is good at. It was a setback for me, but I've made good progress now and can at least catch a few more in shorter time.
You know you love your job when you leave early to visit with family you haven't seen in years, and yet you still wish you could stay at work. And by 'early' I really mean working about 8 hours instead of 10 or 11. ;P
You should definitely come riding with me when you can.

Which reminds me. When I have a moment, I need to post about the accident I witnessed my first or second week at the ranch. That was a heart-stopper.
