Let's try this again...
I've decided to make the afghan square instead of rectangle because, looking at the one my grandma made for me, it'd fit the bed much better if it were shorter in one direction and longer in the other, and that makes it square, so there you go. *shrug ( Read more... ) -
Eek! A possible change in pattern
I know, seems late in the day to be doing that, right? Well, in a discussion with Sharee last night about a blanket she DOES know about, she stated that she likes things really simple and identified my mom's quilt pattern as a "butterfly," even though I was just thinking of it as more symmetrical. Cookin' 'em up!
This is a copy of the post I did on another site - thought I should put it here, too: :)
I have now completed 112 granny squares on my afghan, which means I have to get my butt IN GEAR this month! The entire project requires 252 squares. Whew!

Moving along
I am at 41 squares of the light green color completed now, along with one skein's worth each of the other three colors, too. The round tin Steff gave me to store this stuff in is starting to get crowded ( Read more... ) -
Finally, some PROGRESS!
So, I wimped out there for a while, then I got my butt in gear, and I'm working again on this and am making progress. I have now finished a skein each of all 4 colors and done 2 of the light green color. I bought 3 more skeins of the light green to work on over the next few weeks. My hope is to not only be done with them but be moving faster ( Read more... ) -
Okay, final two border colors
Okay, I realized I messed up the pics in the last entry, but it doesn't matter, 'cause I think I've made my decision - or at least narrowed it down some. I'm really leaning toward using the light green for the borders (the pic on the right), but the off-white (left pic) still looks nice, too. Do you have an opinion? Let me know!
