Heee..I love lumpiang shanghai...unahan tayo sa last piece. Walang hiyaan. Promise. Hee. Lumpia from Dencio's [tamis-anghang] and Kalye Juan [fish or pork option pa] are yummy. God Bless.

p.s. that MRT experience is something no? LRT naman ako from Monumento-Carriedo whenever I commute to work. I'm glad meron ng separate car for women...

Ooh, I love your entry, Adel. I've always wondered about this, too, but I can never write it as good as you do. :D

I'm definitely sharing this with my friends. :)

great insight on 'nagkahiyaan'. good read :)

unfortunately, the jerk going against the flow on a one-way street also got into an altercation with the person who actually took notice and said something. the poor student got shot and eventually died...

My lola used to call that last piece of food left as "piece of shame" (my literal English translation). She would say some Spanish phrase that ends in "verguenza". I looked up the literal translation of "piece of shame'" which is "el pedazo de la vergüenza". But I know the españoles have a term for that. Weird 'no. But I'm too kapal so I usually go for that last piece. :D

I think, in these times of hunger, it is inexcusable to let a perfectly good piece of food go to waste, all just to keep up appearances. Eat up, folks, you never know if you'll get another meal. :)

I usually never get the "hiya piece", but if I really wanted it, I would, but I'd ask permission from everyone first. Then usually someone will go, "can I half it with you?" Hehe

As for calling jerks out for their jerky activities, I do that a lot. I call out people who cut in line, especially. Then everyone looks at me as if *I* were the one in the wrong.
