Try yelp.com, I sent my friend Lyssa there and she found a good place (but she's in Philly, so...not much use here.)

Well I also work at BB and I don't think they provide universally bad service. Frankly it's all a crapshoot. You have to get lucky and get a good tech no matter where you go. I've fixed plenty offuckups from mom and pop shops and compusa and microcenter when I lived in nova. Ideally find a person you know or have a conection to rather than a shop.
