fictionalley.org (I think that's the addy, not been there in like a million years) has good fic... Ashwinder is a good place for Snape/Granger fics (don't worry, she's legal in most, if not all, of the fics). DracoandGinny.com has good Draco Malfor/Ginny Weasley fic.
If you start shipping Harry/Hermione I might have to disown you (kidding, loves you too much! :D).
Oooooh yes, I've known about the screaming fangirls longer than I've know the fandom existed. Really, I'm fairly sure I first heard about it online somewhere, in a complaint. :D But I've learned long ago not to judge a fandom by its fangirls. *cough*battlestargalactica*cough*
Snape/Granger, Draco/Ginny, EEK! :D Okay, Snape/Granger might work, because he's not really evil, just bad-tempered...but why do people pair Ginny with Draco? Explain, pleases?
What? No! Harry's too...well...angsty and central-character-y to ship with Hermione. Ron--Ron might work. They bicker enough. XD And of course Ginny, that's a given. Got any of those?
Anyway, I can see I've got a loooooooot of catching up to do. *gets busy--er, figuratively*
For iconage, the potterpuffs community is cute. No new ones, but the old ones are cute.
I succumbed to HP a couple years ago. I tried not to, I really tried... but they're actually a fun read =P. I enjoyed all the movies too, and I'm always there on opening day. How sad, LOL. Ah well, there are too few good movies and books these days, might as well enjoy the ones that are there.
It's addictive, I swear. *is going through withdrawal due to no time to read because of school* Harry is getting extremely whiny, though (roundabout book 5); does that get worse?
Anyway. The only linkies I have are to massive wanks within the HP community. I try not to get too involved in online fandom because I, like you, am far superior.
(side note--Jesus Was A Hufflepuff? XD I'm completely confused, but it's funny....)
:D I think I'm completely staying out of the mainline ships (entirely too much bloodshed), but if I had to choose, I'd go with Ron/Hermione because they simply bicker too much to not get together. :) I prefer Ginny/Hermione at the moment, but I think I've decided to stay out of fandom for the moment because OMGWTF SPOILERS X_____________X.
