That's ridiculous. I use to slap my siblings' hands when they tried to, or did, throw food on the floor when they were little. Then whoever at our table was closest to it would pick it up. Because my family's half eaten food doesn't need to be touched by anyone else. It's disgusting.

And you know what? My brother and sister have impeccable manners now.

Good for you. I do see plenty of parents doing the same thing when their kids make a mess, but it doesn't make up for the parents who don't.
