I'm in the midst of unpacking and I hate unpacking a lot so I decided to take a break. I arrived in New York with one little suitcase with underpants, a couple shirts and some skirts inside. I came back with a whole lot more. I was much afeared of getting in trouble going through customs but luckily all crises were averted. Phew!

I've had a zillion pairs in black but I always manage to accidentally get bleach on them or get them full of road salt. I do that with a lot of my clothes :( They came in every colour of the rainbow and I was so, so happy!

Warm enough? Psssh. I wear skirts in -40 weather. It's always warm enough for those shoes!

Ugh, your shopping trip makes me want to go down there right NOW.

Manhattan's grid system is a little confusing the first time you try and navigate it; particularly if you're trying to figure out how to get there while walking to different subway stops.

Incidently, I LOVE Anthropologie. The last time I was in Buffalo almost swung several miles out of my way just to go to the one at the Galleria Mall but alas, I had not time. I've been to the one around Tribeca and thats the best one I've ever seen...

(But hey, we're FINALLY getting an Aldo in Syracuse ;) )

I love Aldo so much! I just recently bought a really adorable pair of pastel green moccasin-esque shoes there. They have little flower cut-outs and are the most comofortable things in the world.

YES! Ugh! I'm sure the subway is amazingly convenient once you get the hang of it, but there are just so many stations and lines! Ack!

ps. Mike and I LIVE off of shells and chreese. its the best fucking vegan food in the world besides tofurkey, my other love. you need to get some shells and chreese, they're 10 times better than all the othes kinds.

They didn't have shells :( They only had those three kinds and alfredo, and I make a pretty mean vegan alfredo already so I opted for the others. Are shells and chreese the same thing, just different pasta? Because I have all kinds of shell pasta around!

Unfortunately, I don't think they sell ANY of these kinds in Ottawa, so if I reallyreally like it I'll have to mailorder it from Pangea or something. Boo!

And thank you so much! I never really know what I'm doing clothing-wise but I'm always pretty lucky at finding or making things I really love!

I'm not sure if the chreese part is different, but the shells are just normal white semolina pasta, which is why I like it because I despise wheat pasta! If you give me your address I would be more than willing to ship you some and you can send me something in exchange!

I am in love with my clothes too! My new rule is that I may buy whatever I like, guilt free, as long as I love it and it isn't too outrageously priced (like $60 for vintage shoes... gross!). Anyway, my rule is working out very well for me so far :)

I normally try to eat much healthier than the kind of stuff I posted. Even after six days of eating out and eating junk food I feel sick and my stomach is always rumbly and sore. But New York is vegan convenience food central and I mean... how could I not?! It's so tasty and yummy!

i am actually going shopping today &if i were ever to see a pair of vintage shoes for $60, i would complain (that i couldn't afford it!). my clothes come fairly cheap too.. i only splurge as a reward.. it feels nicer that way!

i used to live off of boca patties. i was really thin &unhealthy.. but then i broadened my food horizons and uncovered the goodness that is the chickpea, amazing tofu recipes, vegetables galore.. and other delicious favourites! is newman's own really good? i've seen it quite often, but have never purchased it.

The shoe thing made me SO MAD because the $60 shoes in question weren't even in great condition or by a sought after designer. They were poorly made mass-produced pieces from years ago and yet people will pay so much for them becuase they're sold in a cool neighbourhood. Eff that! It's all finding the same shoes for $3 at thrift stores ( ... )

I think the deer shirt is so, so awesome. I started jumping up and down when I tried it on and saw it in the mirror and the homeless nosepicker looked most confused!
