Part One: The BeachAs mentioned, yesterday I went swimming at the beach with Tasha. I tried to teach her how to do backstroke but I just ended up splashing her in the face a lot. After all the exercise, we decided to lay in the sun. I had a few harsh words with my skin upon realizing that after an afternoon in the sun I hadn't changed colour at all ( Read more... )

YOU PRETENDED TO BE LITTLE POPCORNS AT VARIOUS STAGES OF POPPING.

It was a lot of fun, and thankfully it was pretty deserted so there weren't many people to mock us. We quickly discovered that capturing the intermediate popcorn stages through the lens is not an easy feat!

Love the bathing suit. You both look so cute and so fun. What a lovely day! I hope your bday plans work out well, a picnic sounds original and lovely, you always have such good ideas :)

Picnics are my favourite thing so it makes sense to me! I had a little picnic for my birthday last year but it was on Canada Day weekend so like, no one was able to come. It sucked! Well, I mean, the picnic was fun but I was bummed that the attendance wasn't better. The more the merrier, as they say!

Hehe. You should have seen the sequined "underwear" part to Tasha's suit! You can't tell from the photos but it was amazing, except that she apparently seems to think her bottom is bigger than it is because it was a little droopy. But still cute!

I kind of hate my bathing suit (THAT BELT IS THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE) and when I tried it on I was like "ewwww unflattering!". But so cheap! It will tide me over until I find something better. If something better exists.

I'm not sure what time I'll want to start the picnicing but if you are free until 4:30 you should certainly be able to fit in at least a few hours! I haven't seen you in a bazillion years so PLEASE COME, OKAY?

And awww, graduation!!

I have no idea where Tasha got hers. I think they might just be two pieces she picked up at different places / times? I'll ask! Or if she reads this she can just answer. But Europe will be fruitful for bathing suits, I am certain!

Almost graduation is still pretty good. I am so proud of youuu!

Any beach that isn't by the ocean is gross to me, but I'm learning to lower my standards. The one yesterday wasn't bad, except apparently there is sometimes an e. coli problem. Yucck!

The weather is so perfect for swimming these days. Even though the water was cold, it is SO refreshing to wade in when it's 30+ degrees outside! You'll be nice and cool for the whole rest of the day! You should definitely consider making a beach trip if this nice weather keeps up.

And re: Tasha's lips, I know! I'm totally jealous of them!

I used to play "the popcorn game" when I was little- my mum and dad would wrap me up inside a blanket cocoon and swing me around. I would go "POP POP POP!" and then when I stopped "POP"ing I'd burst out. It sounds kind of dangerous but I never got hurt, and it was lots of fun. One day you should teach it to Ruby!
