"POSITIVE ENERGY! POSITIVE ENERGY!"

That is what a lady shouted as she waved her hands at me when I was walking into a church last night. It was the first time I'd been inside a church in almost ten years. It made me think, whoa, church has really changed since I was last there! I actually feel like I almost have too much positive energy these days. I am struggling to keep my ( Read more... )

How late did you stay until (at Nuit Blanche)? I was out until 3:30 I think, before I was ready to fall asleep.

I also only made it until about 3:30. I wanted to do more, but all the ball throwing/kicking/running around really tired me out.

I felt like such a wimp because there were six year old kids still at it when I was crawling home!

I wanted to do more too, but I didn't get enough sleep the night before and wasn't able to get second wind. I'm looking through the book now and I'm keep thinking "ahh! I should've gone to see that too!"

Did you check out all three zones?

I did go to all three zones, but only a couple things in C. There were SO many things I wanted to do but didn't have a chance. I didn't do much in the way of museums/films/readings because I found staying in one place inside was making me sleepy, so I definitely feel like I missed out on a lot!

What were your favourite things you got to see?

I wonder if you saw my sister and her boyfriend! I was talking to her yesterday and she kept gushing about how excited she was for Nuit Blanche! and then, Yo La Tengo or something too this week.

Hmm, I don't think I noticed anybody who resembled you, but it's very possible we were in the same crowds together! The whole thing was definitely worth gushing about. Everyone seemed to be having a really great time!

how does one dress like a Nietzsche scholar??

Think of the most stereotypical 1960s intellectual / pompous graduate student who like, wears all black (esp. black turtleneck), glasses, dark, neat hair, always carrying around either a stack of books or a really strong coffee drink, and has a perma-scowl of disdain for the world. That's like, the classic archetype of a Nietzsche scholar.

Basically I've been wearing an uncharacteristic amount of black and putting my hair back and always carrying tea and books around, so I feel like I'm a-headed in that direction.
