While I know I would have loved a boy just as much, I am THRILLED that the baby is a girl. It's what we were both hoping for. And, more importantly, the nurse said everything looked healthy and measured at the right size for how far along I am.

( Because I know everyone loves looking at pictures of my uterus... )

I like it! I think I like most state names as people names, except for Montana, which makes me think of a stripper. Would it be cruel to name a kid Ohio when she's going to be living in Michigan?

Only if you plan to send her to college at U of M. But the fun kind of cruel.

Maybe naming her Ohia would make it better. Or just more redneck.

I'm being evasive on the name question at the moment, since when I DID tell some people (at school) the response was kind of tepid. Like, "that's really the best you can come up with?" Yeah, bitches, it is. Back off!

Dude, name that kid whatever you want, but I am going to once again put in my request for her to be named Ashley. My boss is also having a baby and I asked her if she would name her baby Ashley and she gave me death eyes. You're my last hope. Maybe just her middle name?
