And thanks for the consolation. Somehow I don't find myself stressing out about his diagnosis, partially because it's something I suspected before, and partially because the guy seemed like a bit of a nutcase himself..

Western medicine is what you're used to. Doctor comes up with what's wrong with you, you get medication to fix it. Pretty straightforward.
Eastern medicine is more about everything going on in your life. When they make a diagnosis, they take into account everything, like how you've been sleeping, who you've seen etc. and do something with all that. I dont remember this exactly, but like you've seen yourself, they try to find problems with your soul or inner self.
At least I found it interesting.
