I haven't seen 24 yet this season. This post doesn't exactly make me wanna catch up, either.

I wonder if they got a lot of flak about the violence and torture the last few years and decided to make it safe and boring.

Well, there's still violence and torture, except Jack's not doing the torturing this time. He has an understudy. And the movie was pretty good. But since the actual series started, there's really been only one "Holy shit! Did he just do that? That's badass!" moment so far.
